Established October 19, 1997 as a non-profit Wisconsin corporation.
It received IRS approval as a tax exempt 501 (c) (3) organization on January 28, 1998

Purpose:
The purpose of JCS is to promote and preserve jazz music in it's diverse formats as a vital part of our American heritage.

Programs:
In order to fulfill it's purpose, the following programs are planned:
* Jazz Music Library
* Teach Clinics/Jazz camps
* Jazz Concerts
* Grant Program
* Promotion of jazz musicians who are not nationally known artists
* A web site for networking jazz musicians to concert organizers, teachers and enthusiasts as well as a bulletin board for Wisconsin jazz events.
* A News letter

Membership:
Membership in JCS is open to those persons who are
interested in jazz music and/or desire to promote the jazz idiom as part of the American heritage. JCS may elect to charge annual membership fees.

Donations and contributions are welcomed to support the early development of JCS. Contributions are tax deductible.
