When I mention “Aerial Yoga” to some of my peers (50 and older), the visions of “Cirque Du Soleil” dangle in their minds.
Consider this…Yoga is for everyone and the most difficult pose for anyone who hasn’t tried it, is walking in the door of a yoga studio. The second most difficult pose for seasoned Yogis and Yoginis is “Child’s Pose”.
Yoga is about leaving your ego at the door and opening your mind, body and soul to breath and alignment. A great place to start and a great place to end.
Pictured here, ( sorry, for the blur), I’m letting the silk extend my spine, tucking the silk underneath my scapula. A lunge supported by silk, opens the Psoas muscles on a new level and everyone “Psoas, it GOES”….:) Immediately, I feel my spine lengthen and my hips release.
Aerial is like practicing yoga with the hands of the Heavens reaching down to support you.
Give it a try, lengthen your spine, lengthen your breath and lengthen your quality of life.
Inner Sun Yoga Studio is a beautiful place to begin your supported experience.
I teach a yoga class every Thursday morning from 9:30-10:30 at the new location of Yoga Elements in Appleton. My class focuses on breath and alignment and it’s called “Slo-ga”.
